Welcome to ABURI TORA! Originating from Tokyo, Japan, we are a technology-forward restaurant serving ABURI sushi, nigiri, edoprime, and a selection of Japanese tapas delivered to you via a sushi laneway and a touch-screen ordering experience. Please note that we do not take reservations. Take-out is available daily!

 What Is Aburi?

Literally translated, ABURI means “flame seared”, but for TORA, this word encompasses a much more profound image of innovation and change. When flame is applied to sushi, the heat changes the sushi’s flavour to create something new and exciting. Our Founder & CEO, Seigo Nakamura, invented this style of sushi in 2008 by combining traditional OshiZushi (box-pressed sushi) with the Aburi technique and proprietary sauces, most notably the Aburi Salmon Oshi Sushi. Discover our world-famous ABURI-style Nigiri, Oshi and Roll. P/s: our Aburi-style sushi doesn’t require soy sauce.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME - TORA is a place for everyone. Our laneway system is designed to amuse and satisfy date nights, family outings, lunch meetings or a post-shopping stop. We are also a fully accessible restaurant.

Our new COLLABORATION FEATURES

ABURI TORA is proud to collaborate with Executive Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa of One MICHELIN Star restaurant Aburi Hana to create exceptional dishes fusing local & Japanese ingredients and techniques.

 

TUNA TATAKI SALAD

Featuring albacore tuna, tomato plum sauce, masatake sauce which is a sesame sweet onion sauce, chive oil, gem lettuce, ito togarashi.

Lobster AOSA Tempura

Lobster tempura, sea urchin, wasabi miso, chive oil. This dish was created in collaboration with MICHELIN-Star chef Ryusuke Nakagawa of Aburi Hana.

ABURI HOTATE NIGIRI

A reimaged classic in collaboration with MICHELIN-star chef Ryusuke Nakagawa. Hokkaido scallop is charcoal-grilled and topped with an avocado Saikyo-miso sauce and sakura ebi.

Wagyu Truffle Sukiyaki

A5 Miyazaki wagyu, black truffle, egg yolk sauce, truffle dashi soy. This dish was created in collaboration with MICHELIN-Star chef Ryusuke Nakagawa of Aburi Hana.

Aburi Tuna Belly Nigiri

This premium nigiri features the fattiest and most prized cut of the tuna - the belly, it’s known for its rich marbling and melt-in-your-mouth texture.

SIGNATURE ROLLS

From bottom to top: Aburi California Roll (ft. flame-seared Miku sauce), Aburi TORA Roll, and California Roll with Tobiko topping. Experience the best of our Aburi-style rolls.

ABURI SELECTION SET - $24

Featuring the best of Aburi cuisine. Akami nigir, aburi salmon toro nigiri, sea bream salt lemon nigiri, flame-seared red prawn nigiri, aburi ebi oshi, aburi salmon oshi, aburi California roll (2pc), and a bowl of miso soup.

edomae select SET - $32

Classic Aburi Oshi Sushi, sashimi, and nigiris. The Edomae Select features yellowtail & Atlantic salmon sashimi, aburi salmon oshi, aburi ebi oshi, sea bream, chu-toro, scallop, red prawn, miso soup.

Please note, our lunch sets are only available for lunch service (12-5pm).
